Classes
Cursed Gear doesn't use classes. The system is called Gear.
Overview
Players often search for classes when they really mean Gear. In Cursed Gear, your Gear defines your skills, move set, and playstyle.
There is no traditional RPG class tree here. Each Gear acts more like your weapon and fighting style combined into one system.
How Builds Actually Work
- Gear is the closest thing to a class because it defines your main combat style and skills.
- Cursed Techniques layer on top of Gear and change how a build plays rather than replacing the Gear system.
- Cybernetics, clans, and other systems add modifiers and side systems instead of acting like separate class slots.
Official Answer
How do I get started?
Upon first joining the game, players will be prompted to create their character. They can choose a name, customize their appearance, select a start school, and choose one of the starting Gears. They will then be sent to their chosen school, where they can begin going on expeditions. How do I grip people?
Where most games allow players to grip knocked opponents before they recover, Cursed Gear works the opposite. Knocked players will not naturally recover, dying after a set period of time unless revived by another player with the B key. Dealing damage repeatedly to a knocked opponent will execute them faster, or they can press the prompt on-screen to give up. Certain Cursed Techniques do have the ability to execute knocked players, as does the Usurper Gear.
