- Players' builds are made up of two main components: their Gear, and their Cursed Technique. Both of these can be improved, unlocking new skills and abilities as well as upgrading existing ones.
- Players have a skill tree depending on their current Gear, dictating what skills they currently have available and how powerful they are. Unlocking and upgrading these skills will allow access to new moves, passives, and sometimes even unique interactions between skills.
- When players collect Gear orbs or fight opponents, they’ll be rewarded Gear points that can be used to upgrade these skills. Players can get an infinite number of Gear points, allowing them to max all available skills. If a player switches Gears, all invested points will be reset, but half will be refunded.
- When players collect technique orbs or use their Cursed Technique, they’ll be rewarded technique points that can be used to upgrade these stats. Players have a limited number of technique points, so they must invest wisely depending on their priorities. Technique stats also require an increasing number of points at higher levels. However, Memory Drives can be used to increase the number of points available. If a player switches Cursed Techniques, all invested points will be reset, and none will be refunded.

Overview
Players' builds are made up of two main components: their Gear, and their Cursed Technique. Both of these can be improved, unlocking new skills and abilities as well as upgrading existing ones.
Gear Tree
Players have a skill tree depending on their current Gear, dictating what skills they currently have available and how powerful they are. Unlocking and upgrading these skills will allow access to new moves, passives, and sometimes even unique interactions between skills.
When players collect Gear orbs or fight opponents, they’ll be rewarded Gear points that can be used to upgrade these skills. Players can get an infinite number of Gear points, allowing them to max all available skills. If a player switches Gears, all invested points will be reset, but half will be refunded.
Cursed Technique / Tool Tree
Players have a skill tree depending on their current Cursed Technique that determines the strength, frequency, and efficiency of their abilities. All Cursed Techniques will have a near identical skill tree composed of three parts: Potency, how strong the technique is and the damage it deals; Haste, how long the cooldowns are; and Efficiency, how much Technique Bar the abilities consume. Some techniques will also have access to one or more evolutions, providing access to new moves or passives.
When players collect technique orbs or use their Cursed Technique, they’ll be rewarded technique points that can be used to upgrade these stats. Players have a limited number of technique points, so they must invest wisely depending on their priorities. Technique stats also require an increasing number of points at higher levels. However, Memory Drives can be used to increase the number of points available. If a player switches Cursed Techniques, all invested points will be reset, and none will be refunded.
