Overview

  • Discovered by Shallow Zenin, Madness Factor is a Cursed Technique that amplifies the user’s base attributes, greatly increasing their overall combat performance. However, remaining in this empowered state for too long allows the madness to take hold. Once it fully consumes them, the user loses themselves and begins to rampage uncontrollably.
  • NOTE: The color of this Cursed Technique is based on the user’s Cursed Energy color.

Details

  • Input: Passive
  • The user is granted a red Rage meter that slowly increases while their ability is active. When this meter is filled, the user will be driven mad and lose control: constantly Curse Dodging on top of their opponent, automatically Black Flashing all hits, and gaining increased damage reduction. The madness will end when the meter completely drains.
  • Madness Factor
  • Technique EVO: 0
  • Input: R
  • The user activates their Cursed Technique, slowly draining their Technique Bar and increasing their Rage meter. During this state, the user receives a bonus to Dexterity and increased damage reduction. The user is also passively granted Flicker Image. Recasting this ability will stop the madness.

During this state, the user receives a bonus to Dexterity and increased damage reduction. The user is also passively granted Flicker Image. Recasting this ability will stop the madness.

Enraged Swipes

Input: Hold M1 + M2 + M2 (during Madness Factor)
  • Technique EVO: 0
  • The user performs three swift slashes, lowering their Rage meter with each successful hit to retain control.

Berserk

Input: Passive (full Rage)
  • Technique EVO: 0
  • When the Rage meter is filled, the user will be driven mad and lose control: constantly Curse Dodging on top of their opponent, automatically Black Flashing all hits, and gaining increased damage reduction. The user will have their screen covered by the GIF below, and the madness will end when the meter completely drains.

Berserk Mode Eat

Input: Passive (during Berserk)
  • Technique EVO: 0
  • While on expeditions, the user will feast on nearby NPCs during Berserk. Upon killing and eating one, the user will have some health restored.
